When you go through a trying time, like I have been through in the last 48 hours, you do get tired and weary! On top of that tomorrow is the day I have my other eye operated on, however I am excited to get it over with! The worse thing about it is that I cannot wear make-up for a week, and if you know me at all (as one male friend said to me), I would have to be in the "witness protection" program to go without makeup! So my over sized sunglasses will be my closest friend, again, for the next week or more! There is an encouragement in the Bible for all our situations and here is one from Jesus' own lips! Matthew 11:28-29 (The Message)"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." When you are tired and weary with all the things you have to do on an everyday basis, there is One who hears and understands, it is Jesus. It is HE who spoke these Words of help and hope to us. Read this: Hebrews 2:14-18 Since the children are made of flesh and blood, it's logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood in order to rescue them by his death. By embracing death, taking it into himself, he destroyed the Devil's hold on death and freed all who cower through life, scared to death of death. It's obvious, of course, that he didn't go to all this trouble for angels. It was for people like us, children of Abraham. That's why he had to enter into every detail of human life. Then, when he came before God as high priest to get rid of the people's sins, he would have already experienced it all himself—all the pain, all the testing—and would be able to help where help was needed. I wanted you to see that when Jesus goes to the Father, He goes with empathy, not sympathy, for He KNOWS how we feel. Please, just because I ask you to, read that scripture one more time before you finish this blog. So, whether you are facing depression, death, hunger, debts you cannot pay, severe illness. In reading the Gospels, you have seen everyone of those things and His solutions for them, namely having FAITH in HIM! You may only know Him from reading about Him in the pages of the Book, but I know Him personally, and believe me, dearest reader, there is a world of difference. You may read me and feel that you know me, and I do show my real personality here, that is true, but you don't know me up close and personal..if you talked with me every day, had lunch with me, got irritated with me for doing something dumb or not understanding your "funny", then you would know whether I would cry with you or laugh with you, take you seriously, or really pray if I told you I would. You may think those things, but you need to KNOW them...about Jesus. He is kind and tender and compassionate and forgiving and never, ever throws anything up to you from your past. There is a song that says: He knows the bitter, weary way, the endless striving day by day, the souls that weep the souls that pray, He knows, He knows. He knows how hard the fight has been, the clouds that come our lives between, the wounds the world has never seen, He knows, He knows.Be blessed, think of me at around 11:30 to noon, pray, and remember....He knows. harolene@att.net
