I feel that I owe an apology to God and I wanted to share it with you, because you may owe Him one also!
We have to be aware that when He answers a prayer for us that we actually REMEMBER that He did it and not just lay it off to coincidence or happenstance and forget about it. You know me well enough by now to know that something brought this to my attention.
I have a habit of helping people who are in need and sometimes I see it on my own and sometimes it is brought to my attention. Only if I am to the point that I really cannot afford it have I not helped...there are only a few times that someone actually stopped to say thank you. The only time you hear from them is when they are in need again. Then to find out that this person has moved on to greener grass, grass that hasn't been mowed so many times that the ground is bald, and suddenly they have a whole new set of friends to draw help from, is a little personally discouraging. I have never done anything to receive praise or thanks from any one person, I expect only to receive a reward from the heavenly Father who has seen my heart, and I know that He does see. This is only an earthly example of things that we do to Him and maybe this is why it has come to my attention..what have I forgotten to thank Him for? Be grateful for? Whatever it is, I am so sorry and ask for Him to forgive me and give me another chance to Praise Him in a way that makes Him happy that He has so generously helped me.
Give yourself a check up and see if you are guilty of this and just in case you might be...go to the book of Psalm and find some of David's praises to God and say them as if you were praying them for yourself! After all, David was a man after God's own heart so I would say that anything he wrote is worthy to repeat!
BLESS THE LORD, OH MY SOUL, AND ALL THAT IS WITH IN ME...BLESS HIS HOLY NAME. BLESS THE LORD OH MY SOUL AND FORGET NOT ALL HIS BENEFITS TOWARD ME! AMEN AND AMEN!

As I type this, I can hear my dad upstairs calling out to God for divine intervention for a number of things, the health of him and his wife (he is of the era where a man referred to his other half as "the wife", the "little woman" and not usually by their name), his children, all the people that have asked him to pray for them now and back over the years..in other words...A PRAYER! We have had a little battle with health issues this past week but, thank God, we seem to be improving. Aunt Ardella is still in the hospital and needs all the prayer she can get, Uncle Harding is lost without her. After 68 years of close relationship in marriage it is hard to be alone.
Today has the promise of crisp cool air in days to come soon and I love it! When I went out this morning to walk P'nut I breathed deep and tried to rid myself of all the ugliness I heard from all the "talking heads" (Janet's description) discussing the debate last night. My opinion (did you ask?) is that no one's mind was changed about whoever they planned to vote for..God needs to help and guide the people of this nation to choose the person that will bring us out of problems, by His Grace and that through prayer! Agree with me on that one!
Well, off to the Women of Harvest meeting! Have a great day, thanks for stopping by and ask God to make Divine appointments for you today! Be blessed!

I know you have seen the advertisement, not sure which channel, but all the premiers of the new Fall shows are on. So when is it National Stay Out Week? Haven't heard anything about that one! When I was very young..thinking around 7, we had some members in the church who had a TV! It was a BIG deal to have a TV in the 50's...Anyway, on Friday night a show called "The Life of Riley" came on, it was starring William Bendix and they would invite us over there to watch that show. The child of the family would get up during every commercial and turn the TV off so they would not see a commercial about smoking or drinking! At least they did that when we were there, wonder if they did it when no one was there but them? Not critisizing, I wouldn't have turned it off no matter WHO was there if I had a choice! I was so happy to see those little figures moving around on that magic screen that I would watch anything! The Swilleys (Wallace and Ernestine) had a TV before we did and they would call us from where they lived in Athens (Tennessee) and say..Hey y'all come watch TV with us tonight, the reception is good and you can almost see their eyes! Now,we didn't have one until I was 10 and that was a 12 inch Bendix..wooden cabinet. We, Alan and me, thought we were in heaven! We would watch the Gilette Friday night fights just to be watching it! Then there was Adventure Theatre that came on in the evenings and Popeye. BUT our favorite thing to watch on that little box, from inside a 16 foot trailer that was sitting on a gravel parking lot in downtown Chattanooga, was The Oral Roberts Tent Meetings. I remember that we sat, mouths open, watching the miracles that happened as Brother Roberts would pray and sometimes get so tired that he would be sitting in a chair as people walked by for him to touch them. I honestly believe that the ministry that our parents had planted in us at birth and growing as PKs was watered by watching those services. Now you have to be careful even changing the channels because there is so much garbage on it that just slams you in the face sometimes! One evening when Gabriel was just old enough to get the remote and change channels, I was cooking supper and suddenly I saw the most pornographic scene that I could ever have imagined! Gabriel was sitting there looking intently at the screen, I went running as fast as I could to change the channel and couldn't get it to change and finally had to turn it off to get rid of the scene! He had flipped onto the On Demand and had hit the "purchase" button and that was that! What if I had not been there to stop that? No telling what that little child would have sat there and watched! Don't worry, I have installed parental guides now and only I have the code so that cannot happen again! Look, the devil is trying from every angle possible to suck us in to his devices and if he can get our mind into the proverbial gutter..that is the first step to trying out some of these antics...the eye is the window of the soul!
Didn't know where I was going, just rambling, but be careful what you see..it stays in there for a long time...why is it that my grand babies can quote words from songs that I can't even understand a word they're saying and then have to have their Bible memory verse pounded into them and it is so hard for them to remember? Well the devil has made his stuff taste like chocolate and look like cotton candy and they gravitate toward the sweet! We have to be aware of what's going into their mind and heart. Just because YOU love the Lord and know His Word, does not mean that they will just "get" it!! They have to be taught. Let's teach them well, OUR future depends on it!
Pray for our Nation!

I know that a lot of people are not too excited about reading the book that the Apostle wrote to the Romans! But the message of that book should cause our hearts to worship the Lord! This message of grace and God's unfailing love invites us to devote ourselves completely to the Lord. Think about it, Jesus died for us while we were still sinners! That ought to show us the complete love that God has for us! Ask the Holy Spirit, who intercedes for you, to open your heart and mind to understand the depth of God's love for you. Then ask Him to help you to express your devotion to Him through worship! It is an experience that fills the "hole in your soul" which is an emptiness that you cannot explain, the way you crave something particular to eat, something that satisfies a certain craving that you can't quite explain. Today as I was driving I was listening to the Voices of Lee singing one of my favorite hymns, Great is Thy Faithfulness. Riding alone in my car I began to worship and pray and felt so wonderful. When I got to the store I didn't want to get out, I wanted to just sit there and listen, so guess what I did? I put my earphones in and took my music with me. No telling how loud I was singing, but I did sing along with those beautiful worship songs as I shopped for groceries! There is no certain formula for standing before God, I felt His presence with me right there in the cereal aisle! Try it, you'll like it!

If I can help somebody as I pass along, If I can cheer somebody with a word or a song, If I can show love's message to a world gone wrong, then my living shall not be in vain.
The words to that song conjure up memories that go so far back I can't even tell you about them. They all point to my dad singing it, mother playing the piano and us, "the children", singing the back ground. Those were more than just words to my parents. They have helped so many in so many ways..with words of cheer, prayer, counsel, visitation in times of sickness...the list goes on and on. This is what they instilled in us...and who does that sound like?
Jesus walked with His disciples and they say the man in Him when He ate and slept and felt tired. They also saw the holy and compassionate side of Him as He ministered to the woman at the well, to the 10 lepers who all went away healed and only one came back to thank him. They saw him take 5 fishes and 2 loaves and feed five thousand people with enough left over for each disciple to have one, another time four thousand. They saw him make the best wine of the evening from plain water and then saw the water in the sea become a floor for him to walk upon. They saw him spit in the mud and heal a blind man, tell a man to take up his bed and walk...there are too many wonderful things that He did to mention them in this short article, but He did it all! he was empowered from the Father in Heaven and guess what? He gave US the power to do the same things... Mark chapter 16 verse 15 He commissions us to "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature!" Then in 16 we find that if we believe in His name and are baptized, we are saved! Verse 17 says it...And these signs will FOLLOW those who believe...then He lists the things that we, as Christians, believers in His name...should see in our life all the time! How many miracles have I seen happen in my life? Well, honestly there have been some..but it isn't an everyday thing..and it COULD be and SHOULD be happening! We have the right to exercise this miracle working power and the Holy Spirit is our advocate standing before the Father for us..it is very exciting when you think of it that way.
What's the point? Jesus helped "somebody", everybody as he passed along and that is what I want to do! If I can help you, pray for you, put something into words that will encourage you, then THAT is what I want more than anything! That is why I wanted to open this page..a place where anyone with a computer could access me anytime of the day or night simply by logging on. Please give me your prayer requests, your praise reports, the things that you need to hear about...help me to help you! Then when I come to the end of my time I will be able to say, with my dad, Then my living has not been in vain!
Be Blessed!
