Sometimes it is better to leave something unsaid rather than say it outloud exposing yourself to a)judgement b)ridicule c)opening a wound d)making yourself vulnerable. That list may be redundant, but I wrote it as I thought it. We are neither Jesus, John the Baptist, nor Peter or Paul. They were able to call people vipers and hypocrits but they lived lives that backed up their words. With us, we all live in glass houses so throwing stones is not only unwise, it is downright stupid. I had a dream this morning that I was watching as someone unearthed a body that had been buried, wrapped in a blanket. As I watched I was horrified at what I was seeing, then this person lifted the body up at the shoulders and preceeded to uncover the face by just lifting the corner of the blanket, I saw the decaying face and was scared and disgusted by the sight. It was so strange that it woke me wide awake. On thinking about what it could mean, the only thing that made sense is that this person was about to unearth something, some secret maybe, that needed to remain buried. There are faults that we can confess to one another, but when it comes to sins of the flesh that people can use against us, I say keep your mouth shut. My grandfather Mushegan told me to "think 10 times before I said anything" to which I answered "Then I would never get anything said!" He had a little grin that he used on occasions like that and I got the message, just shut up! I am definitely on a little rampage and not sure why, but since I spoke honestly on another blog about something that God had shown me, I got a lot of response from people that had really needed it. I am handing this to you, whoever you are that might be about to tell someone something better left unsaid, unearth a secret someone else has shared with you, maybe tell some secret thing that will make money for you, you don't want to give away good things either, lest someone takes the advantage of you! It can be good or bad I just know that we all need to guard our mouth. Say as the Psalmist said in 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 141:3 Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips. Good advice from brother David! If you say things that you don't mind being repeated, then you don't have to worry that someone will "quote" you. I put that in quotation marks because most times the quotes are actually MIS-quotes! Put good things in, Psalm 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, And his tongue talks of justice. I am asking you to look inside my heart and see the urgency with which I am telling you this today. God bless you and keep you AND your mouth until we meet again. Pray that He will "guard your mouth" and "keep watch over the door of your lips!" and everybody said...AMEN!

So many times, especially in financially hard times like most of us are in right now, we feel so alone. There is no one to help, everyone we know is in as deep as we are! But God is faithful, He never leaves. I had someone say that they couldn't hear God's voice, were they doing something wrong. The answer is no, they are not wrong, we have to learn to be sensitive to hearing Him so that we can. What does that mean? Before you have a child, you can be in a crowd of people and hear a child say "Mama" or "Daddy" and you will never even notice, it probably didn't even register to your senses that you heard it. But when you have a child and hear a child's voice call out, you immediately turn to see if it is YOUR child calling out for help. When you are young you can sleep through anything, thunder, barking dogs, but bring the baby home and suddenly your ears become huge receivers to hear the slightest whimper. You never noticed before, you became sensitive to the sound of a child. Think of it this way, the same way the baby in the crib doesn't know that you hear him, God hears us, because YOU are HIS baby! He is already sensitive to your cry, so there you are crying away, He is listening and is on His way to help, you just have to wait for Him to get there. We used to sing a song "He may not come when you want Him, but He'll come on time!" Psalm 55:22 (NKJ) "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved."Sustain is to maintain, nourish, provide food, bear, hold up, protect, support, defend; to supply the means necessary for living. This scripture is telling us that God will support, nourish, and provide for any person who acknowledges that the burden of cruel treatment(v21) is one that ONLY the Lord can handle! There have been times that I have thrown myself on His mercy and asked for help and it came immediately, then are the times I had to wait: Isaiah 41:30 But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as Eagles, They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Back to Psalm 55:16 I call to God;God will help me. At dusk, dawn, and noon I sigh deep sighs—he hears, he rescues. My life is well and whole, secure in the middle of danger Even while thousands are lined up against me. This verse tells us that David prayed to God three times a day! How often do you go to God with your needs, or do you just expect Him to read your mind? If David had to pray that way and Daniel prayed that way what about Harolene (insert your own name!)? Verse 22 of that same Psalm says Pile your troubles on God's shoulders— he'll carry your load, he'll help you out. He'll never let good people topple into ruin. Whatever your problem is, remember that you have His Word that He wll sustain you, so do what the Psalmist said and then again in 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Be blessed, pray, Cast your burdens on the Lord, get sensitive to His voice and He WILL speak to you!

Have you noticed how the weather affects your attitude? A beautiful day makes us feel great, right? We can have that in the spirit, even if the weather decides to be bad! An evangelist came to our church in Daisy, Tennessee when I was about 8, and sang a song that has forever stayed with me, "You can smile, when you can't say a word, you can smile when you cannot be heard, you can smile, if it's cloudy or gray, you can smile any time any place!" I think the part that impressed me was that second time through he substitued a real smile for the WORD smile...try it, it is funny, but makes a point! In Matthew 21 & 22, Jesus makes His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, fulfilling the prophecy in Zech. 9:9 "See, your King comes to you., gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey." The people lined the streets, like a parade on Peachtree Street welcoming home the World Series winning Braves! They threw their clothes down for the colt to walk on and waved palm branches. I know Jesus must have felt sadness at knowing how soon it would be that this same adoring crowd would turn on Him and cry out for His execution on the cross. I look at the world around me and it seems that as long as someone has money to pour over your needs, you can be a friend, but, the moment sickness comes and the money runs out, the friends are "scarce as hen's teeth" (my grandmother's observation!) When Jesus got into the city and went to the Temple, he got angry and started "fashioning" a whip, when He stood up and cracked that whip, the merchants cleared out! They were selling doves for use as sacrifice! "It is written, My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a 'den of robbers.'" Then He turned around and began healing all the blind and lame that came to Him. After this, the disciples were amazed that Jesus spoke to the fig tree and it withered, immediately! They wanted to know HOW He did it, and He gave them this answer: 21:21 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Jesus gave them several parables about the resurrection, and then was again in the middle of a bunch of prying Pharisees. They began to ask questions, again, concerning the law of Moses: 36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Did you read that? ALL the law and the Prophets hang on these two! This morning I took Chloe' and Gabriel to school, in the midst of the morning rush, and I have never seen (heard) so many rude peope in my entire life! Surely they never read that verse, do you think? Or maybe it just doesn't apply to morning traffic! I love to see the reaction of a person that has a "honk if you love Jesus" bumper sticker when you actually honk at them! I think I stopped commenting and started getting in other people's "bizness"!

Be blessed, pray in the house of the Lord, and here's the hard part, Love your neighbor as yourself!

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king. 1 Samuel 15:23 When you think of a “witch” don’t you see a kind of a “hag” figure…the wild scraggly hair, long nose with a wart, a high pointed hat and a broom stick on which she is riding high in the sky? If you asked a child in grade school to draw one that is the picture you would have. You would be in shock if I told you that someone in our congregation was a practicing witch! If I said that they were actively using witchcraft so powerful that it had entrapped whole families in our own church, wouldn’t you think that was terrible? Yet we ourselves might just be that person! There is a form of witchcraft among us,it is called rebellion! The prophet Samuel says that rebellion is like the sin of witchcraft, why do you think he said that? A witch casts spells and summons spirits to try and make people do what they want, to alter the natural, to take authority that they have no right to take using deceit and lies. Rebellion is your attempt to control your circumstances independent of God, to make your own rules regardless of what the Word of God has to say about anything.Rebellion uses disobedience, disharmony and disunity to gain or maintain control of a situation. Either way when you’re trying to rule from “I can,” rejecting any notion of “God can” you are operating in the wrong spirit. When you do that, you’re becoming one with the enemy! One of Satan’s best tools is a “wedge”,the tool that separates churches, friends and family. Don’t fall into the sin of witchcraft by trying to always be in control, but don’t ALLOW yourself to be controlled by anyone but the Spirit of God only! “Not doing what God tells you is far worse than fooling around in the occult,” (1 Samuel 15:23 MSG). I know you would never think of yourself as being a witch, but if you are trying to control anyone or their circumstances then YOU are operating in that very spirit. If someone is trying to control you, then THEY are operating in that spirit. Haggai 1:5 says this: Now therefore thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways!” Maybe we need to take stock of our own attitudes and see if this rebellion lies within our own mind!

When you keep thinking about something that has happened to you in your past, abuse or bad treatment of any kind, it gives the person that did it to you the continued power to control your life. Give everything to God let it be covered in the Blood of Jesus, Who died for your freedom, and study the Word of God so that YOU will not slip into rebellion of any kind. I repeat, give all your life circumstances to Him!

Be blessed

When you make a garment you cut out pieces that, just to see them laying on a table, look like they have no relation to any other piece. You take two pieces and place them together inside-out and sew. Eventually the garment is all put together and you can see where everything fit, perfectly. I once made a dress that had a diagonal cut from the right shoulder all the way to the hem, in this a ruffle was inserted. When it was on the cutting table I was scared I would never get it together properly, but it turned out so pretty and fit the model to a tee! When I was very young I sat under a quilting frame while the ladies of the church were making a quilt to sell, and from the underside, it looked like a mess, there were threads of different colors hanging, all different lengths. I couldn't imagine how it would look from the top, but when I saw it there were stars and rings in all colors and it was beautiful. When you start a cake you take all the ingredients that separately wouldn't make anything good, but put altogether they make a yummy dessert. When we are born we have to learn how to do everything starting with walking and talking to every skill needed to be self sustaining. Eventually we grow into a functioning adult. Where is this going? The words to a song we used to sing, I have used it here before, it just seems appropriate for me today,

Something Beautiful

Something beautiful, something good All my confusion He understood All I had to offer Him was brokeness and stife But he made something beautiful of my life If there ever were dreams That were lofty and noble They were my dreams at the start And hope for life's best were the hopes That I harbor down deep in my heart But my dreams turned to ashes And my castles all crumbled, my fortune turned to loss So I wrapped it all in the rags of life And laid it at the cross.

I often say that I am a work in progress, and thinking about this today now I KNOW it! Maybe I am a beautiful garment, or a flaky Armenian Pastry, or I may be the towel used to wipe the Savior's feet, what ever it is I know that the hand of God is molding and forming me into the person I need to be. Read Isaiah 45:8-13   I, God, generate all this. But doom to you who fight your Maker— you're a pot at odds with the potter! Does clay talk back to the potter: 'What are you doing? What clumsy fingers!'Would a sperm say to a father, 'Who gave you permission to use me to make a baby?'Or a fetus to a mother, 'Why have you cooped me up in this belly?'" Thus God, The Holy of Israel, Israel's Maker, says: "Do you question who or what I'm making? Are you telling me what I can or cannot do?
I made earth, and I created man and woman to live on it.
I handcrafted the skies  and direct all the constellations in their turnings. From reading this we see that God doesn't need any advice on how to mold and form us, He is the Master potter and I trust Him with my life! Now if He could manage to mold my figure a little better?? Oops sounds like a suggestion, doesn't it?

Be blessed, pray, for maximum happiness, let God mold you into the person that you need to be!
